My approach to therapy comes from these main therapies:
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy is a powerful tool in helping to process past traumas and releasing your mind from the constant re-traumatization that it is stuck in.
Attachment-Focused Therapy: The basis of all of our relationships lives in attachment. We relate to others from our basic understanding of how to connect. Through this therapy we can repair any attachment injuries that you have and help you to have a secure foundation for any relationship.
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT): CFT is an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that draws upon our evolved capacity for compassion to facilitate the alleviation of human suffering. Given that some people have difficulties in feeling safe, being kind, gentle, reassuring, accepting or forgiving of themselves CFT was developed from other therapeutic approaches (both Western and Eastern) to specifically target the development of self-soothing and self-compassion. Self-compassion is key to healing toxic shame.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): Our psyche is made of many parts to help us survive. We have protectors (angry parts, procrastinating parts, judging parts, etc.) and exiles (depressed parts, insecure parts, ashamed parts, etc.) and the Self. The goal of IFS is getting to know and accept all your parts so you can get to know more of the Self.
